English 4:15
Folk, Indie Pop
from Reservoir (2009)
I tend to love a band or singer with a Swede behind the scenes. However, the Swede in question left this English band before it even released its first single circa 2006. The most interesting aspect of Fanfarlo, aside from its borrowed name from the novella La Fanfarlo, is the instrument lineup. There's a clarinet, a mandolin, a musical saw (a musical saw!), a violin and a trumpet. "The Walls are Coming Down", a single from Fanfarlo's first album, has a whimsy to its pop folk that shrouds its vague lyrics.
