The soulful YOSHIKA (b.1983) is a Japanese singer-songwriter most people know from her collaborations with the Japanese duo (once trio) m-flo. YOSHIKA was born in Japan, and lived in Canada and California. She started off indies in 2003 before being pushed to the spotlight with m-flo and YOSHIKA's love ballad "let go". Her own budding career picked up a bit in time for her first studio album, timeless, in 2006. Unfortunately for her music, YOSHIKA's sudden pregnancy caused her to go on a two year hiatus. Today, she's on a new label and still recording. From her second album is "Trampoline", a groovy pop soul combo with an indie beat and church bells galore. I admit her music as of late can be especially dishwater soothing, but her voice is undeniably rich on upbeat anomalies like "Trampoline".
