from irony (2003)

Everyone and their mother has tried their hand at covering Radiohead's "Creep".  Most either steer too close to the original, or vary enough to be marginally triumphant.  ACO delivered a version that echoed Björk, and sent shivers down this jaded listener's spine years ago.  Originally, ACO started out to be more straight laced R&B early in her career.  Her 1999 collaboration with hip-rock band Dragon Ash, "Grateful Days", is arguably her most popular song in her homeland.  Or rather, her most well-known or remembered.  Today, she's taken a major reprieve from her pop days and is looser and audibly nervous.  Her final single "machi" is a prime example of ACO's artistic transformation.  It was composed by Icelandic electronic band Múm.  ACO most recent work is her seventh studio album, devil's hands, from last year.
